GI Zdravi Mojkovac reacted to the statement of the Minister of Mining, Oil and Gas, Admir Šahmanović, who said that it would be good to think again about the opening of the mine in Mojkovac and start a public debate.
"The contract with the offshore company from the island of Jersey has been terminated. The citizens said no at several public hearings, the expert commission formed by former Minister of Energy and Mining Saša Mujović said no, the law office said no. There is no further discussion. They point out that Šahmanović's idea that we should open a public discussion and possibly reconsider the initiation of exploitation represents extreme disrespect for the citizens of Mojkovac, the lay and professional public who have already expressed their opinion on this issue.
"The minister, a graduate of private faculties in the field of economics, business and finance, is publicly trying to disparage the opinion of the Institute for Public Health that due to the presence of mercury, cadmium and arsenic, one should not touch anything. There is a profession and there are citizens who wonder, and Minister Šahmanović is in the function of serving the citizens and not private interests. No more conversations, no more discussions.

GI Zdravi Mojkovac says that any further attempt to revitalize and revive the completed and sealed story will be considered a direct threat to their lives and healthy environment.
