The tax inspectorate temporarily closed 29 facilities and imposed 2.060.700 euros in fines.
As announced by the Tax Administration, from May 1 to August 25, their inspectors performed 3.080 regularity checks of taxpayers' operations and found irregularities in 450 taxpayers. On this basis, 614 misdemeanor orders were issued, with fines in the amount of 2.060.700 euros.
"The debt due to the imposed fines amounts to 1.192.507 euros, of which 962.707 euros or 81 percent have been collected. The collection refers to taxpayers who accepted misdemeanor responsibility and paid the imposed fines within eight days (reduced by a third according to the Law on Misdemeanors ), for all taxpayers who are found to be operating irregularly, the tax inspectors apply the prescribed penalties, from the issuing of misdemeanor orders to the temporary ban of activities and the closure of facilities. measures of temporary ban on the performance of activities," the Tax Administration's announcement reads.
They add that the results show that more irregularities were found with a smaller number of controls.
"The reason is that, through risk analysis, tax inspectors prepare specifically for targeted inspections of taxpayers who have been found to have committed violations during the past year or for whom the tax authority is aware that they do not record sales and do not issue invoices to service users.
