Members of the URA Civic Movement will not support the announced increase in VAT from seven to 15 percent on accommodation services in hotels and private apartments, food and beverages in restaurants, as well as on the sale of books and printed publications, as this will lead to an increase in the prices they will pay citizens, but also to worse business conditions for businessmen, announced the head of the GP URA parliamentary club, Miloš Konatar.
Konatar claims that Spajić once again deceived citizens and businessmen, because he promised that there would be no increase in the VAT rate due to the Europe Now 2 program, and now he is increasing the VAT rate from 15 to XNUMX percent for a number of services.
"URA will not support Spajić's proposal to increase VAT, because it will further accelerate inflation and price growth, which will ultimately be paid by citizens. Tourist accommodation, food, drinks, books will become more expensive and make life difficult for both citizens and the economy, and Milojka Spajić and his government obviously don't even care," Konatar concluded.
