Minister of Economic Development and Deputy Prime Minister Nik Đeljošaj said that the margin restriction action will officially begin on Friday, September 6.
Products will be marked slightly differently during this state action than during the previous similar measure.
He said this at a press conference after the Government session.
The action will last until January 31 of the following year.
Đeljošaj stated that the product marking logo will be slightly different from the last "Limited Price" action, and that more information can be found on the Government's website.
Đeljšaj stated that citizens will be informed about the action through phone messages, and that they have also prepared flyers.
"On the website, citizens will be able to report themselves if they noticed somewhere that the store did not comply with the Government's decisions, of course the Market Inspection will do its part. Starting tomorrow, citizens will be able to buy more than 1.000 at limited prices. I think that in the coming period we will announce the prices of the items before and after the campaign," he said and added that all stores had enough time to prepare.
The government will limit the margins on 66 food and hygiene products in wholesale and retail stores, and compared to the earlier campaign "Limited prices", the list of products now includes fruits, vegetables, a few more types of meat and food for personal hygiene.
The earlier measure, which limited the margins for five basic foodstuffs, to five percent in wholesale trade and five percent in retail trade, remains in force. That list includes wheat flour (type 400 and 500), granulated sugar, edible sunflower oil and table salt per kilogram, regardless of weight.
For the food sector in wholesale and retail stores, margins are limited to 10 percent. The government has also limited margins on hygiene products to a maximum of 10 percent in wholesale and 15 percent in retail.
