Although they still do not have all the official data, according to many parameters, this season is at the same level compared to last year, and according to some parameters, it is slightly better compared to 2023, according to the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro (NTO CG).
"The data of the Monstat Statistics Directorate tell us that during June and July we had a registered arrival of about 872 thousand tourists, which is at the same level as the previous year, i.e. an achievement of 99,3%, while this represents a growth of 2,5% in compared to 2019", said the representative of NTO Montenegro, Milena Vujović, reports Mediabiro.
Observing the month of July, the largest number of arrivals is from the markets of the region, Turkey, Great Britain, Germany, France, Poland and Israel, pointed out Vujović.
"When it comes to the growth achieved from these markets, we recorded twice as many guests from the Turkish market during the month of July, while from the UK market, where we had the largest number of activities, we recorded a growth of 25% compared to July of the previous year, and a growth of 57% compared to 2019", she stated.
When it comes to current data, according to unofficial data submitted by local tourist organizations to the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, on August 5, 100 guests stayed in Montenegro, which is a 4% increase compared to the previous year and a 90% increase compared to 2019. year.
"Looking at the data and other institutions, we can say that we have a pretty good season behind us. According to the CBCG data, in the second quarter of the current year, an income of 340 million euros was generated, which is 2% more compared to the same period of the previous year and a growth of 64% compared to the same period in 2019," she said.
As she added, the Ministry of Finance's data on total earmarked revenues show that from the beginning of the year to September 4, 3 million euros were received, which is 7% more than the previous year. These data include residence tax, tourist tax and membership fees, i.e. the part of these revenues that goes to the state budget.
"Ahead of us is a period of intensive promotional activities, and preparations are underway for the fair in London - the world's largest tourist exchange, the fair in Paris and the congress tourism fair in Barcelona. Also, during the summer, large marketing campaigns were worked on, and soon campaigns will begin in the markets of Great Britain, Germany and France. I would like to mention that the NTO of Montenegro is implementing a project of integral quality management in the destination, which aims to improve the quality of the destination. The previous year, it was done as a pilot project for the two destinations of Kotor and Cetinje, and this year, for the first time, something like this is being done in all municipalities in Montenegro. As part of it, the online reputation is measured in order to see the shortcomings and advantages in the tourist offer, and then education is also offered. Everything is very exact and measurable because it is done through one of the two largest software for this type of measurement. During the previous month, we also announced an invitation for the tourism industry, and around 400 businessmen will be able to receive a free quality analysis, i.e. measurement of online reputation and receive the necessary training. The invitation is open until October 1 of the current year", said the representative of the NTO of Montenegro, Milena Vujović.
