Members of the Parliament of Montenegro voted to rebalance the budget and adopted a set of laws that are necessary for the implementation of the Fiscal Strategy and the Europe Now 2 program.

Rebalancing the budget was necessary in order to introduce new ministries into the system, which were created by the reconstruction of the Government.

The Assembly voted on the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Budget of Montenegro for 2024, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Corporate Profit Tax, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments and amendments to the Law on Personal Income Tax, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Mandatory Social Security Contributions and the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Taxes.

Also, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Labor Law, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Higher Education, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Vocational Training of Persons with Higher Education, and the Proposal for the Law on Write-off of Interest on Due Tax Obligations were also adopted.

Based on these changes, citizens should receive higher wages from October at the expense of reduced pension contributions.

The amendment of the URA GP, as well as the amendment of the Social Democrats to the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Vocational Training of Persons with Higher Education were not accepted, but with 47 votes the Bill was adopted, as was the Bill on write-off of interest on overdue liabilities.
