Strategic development is one of the most important topics for tourism in Montenegro at the moment, so next year, when the current strategy expires, together with relevant experts and the tourism industry, we will work on creating a document that follows measurable goals and realistic market needs, the minister announced. of tourism Simonida Kordić after today's meeting with the Council of Foreign Investors in Montenegro.
She also said that the physical accessibility of Montenegro is one of the main problems that the representatives of the tourism industry with whom she has had the opportunity to speak have pointed out.
The council of foreign investors gathers 41 companies, which make up about 30 percent of the domestic GDP, and the topics of the meeting, among others, were nautical tourism, concrete plans for better air accessibility and the strategy of tourism development in the future, writes Mediabiro.
On this occasion, Kordić said that it is necessary to improve and intensify cooperation between institutions in order to create conditions for adequate development of tourism.
"Tourism hasn't passed without a strategy in these years either, and in that sense I don't want to present a worse image than it actually is, but strategic development is one of the most important topics at the moment, so next year, when the current strategy expires, together with the relevant experts and the tourism economy, to work on a document that follows measurable goals and real needs of the market. In the past month, since I took over the position, I have talked with representatives of the tourism industry, and what they all define as one of the problems is the physical accessibility of Montenegro. So, we have the first problem at the very gates, at the very entrance to Montenegro - border crossings, road infrastructure and air accessibility, and we will work on that interdepartmentally," said Kordić.
The chairman of the board of the Council of Foreign Investors said that this meeting is a good message that in the future, through joint work, a better tourist product can be achieved, and thus better results.
"We see the willingness of the Minister of Tourism to familiarize himself with the challenges faced by member companies of the Council immediately after assuming office as an extremely positive impulse. Today, many issues were discussed, the solution of which begins with the establishment of the practice of continuous dialogue and intensive cooperation. These principles are high on the list of priorities of the Council of Foreign Investors and we are encouraged that the Ministry of Tourism recognizes their importance. We believe that concrete initiatives to improve the investment climate and to improve the Montenegrin tourism product will be created on this basis," Kamaraši said.
Representatives of some of the largest investors in Montenegro - Porto Montenegro, Porto Novi, Luštice Bay and Savana Group expressed their satisfaction with the willingness and openness of Minister Kordić for further cooperation, in order to jointly find solutions to the problems that have been addressed.
The representatives of the member companies of the Council especially emphasized that it is a good message that the Ministry will be exclusively focused on issues related to tourism, which this economic branch, considering its importance for Montenegro, absolutely deserves.
Minister Kordić concluded that the department she heads remains absolutely open to suggestions and discussions, and that it is valuable for all relevant factors to be involved in order to regulate the situation in tourism.
