The Port of Bar is one of the most important infrastructural facilities and plays a key role for Montenegro and the Western Balkan region, said Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović.
He said at the "Balkan Integration Forum" that the Port of Bar has a good position and that we must use it to connect with European and world markets.
"The port of Bar is an entry point for the import and export of goods, not only for Montenegro, but also for neighboring countries that do not have access to the sea," said Radulović.
The Minister believes that the Port of Bar is not used enough and says that this Government intends to invest in port infrastructure.
"We have already applied to the WBIF for the project to expand the waters of the Port of Bar. It is an important project because the expansion of the port's capacity can directly affect the increase in employment and the improvement of the local economy," said Radulović, as announced by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
He also said that the Port of Bar needs good road and rail infrastructure in order to become more competitive on the market.
