The Administration for Games of Chance announced that the total revenues from games of chance and prize games, as of August 31, amount to 20.892.133,67 euros, and that this represents an increase of 82,46 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. .
With the amendments to the Law on Games of Chance from January 1 of this year, they remind, the application of taxation of the variable part of the concession fee for organizing games of chance via the Internet and other telecommunication means began.
"On this basis, 5.720.052,43 euros were additionally charged, and accordingly the total revenues in this segment amount to 7.454.891,14 euros, ending in August 2024," the announcement states.
They say that in the same period there was also an increase in income from casino games by 122,04 percent, the amount of which is 3.126.527.40 euros. Also, on the basis of betting games, 6.322,487.94 euros were earned, which also increased that billing segment by 6,13 percent.
"The given data indicate that the collection of legally prescribed obligations of the organizers towards the state is at a high level with a trend of further growth, which is in accordance with the clear position of the Government of Montenegro that the collection of income from games of chance should be more significantly regulated in favor of the budget of Montenegro," they say from Administration.
According to their records, there are currently 38 registered organizers.
"The Administration for Games of Chance, in addition to its regular duties, plans to direct its activities in the coming period to campaigns aimed at informing the public about the risks of gambling addiction with a special emphasis on juvenile gambling. Work to combat this extremely important problem requires comprehensive engagement of government institutions, the non-governmental sector, parents, as well as the organizers of games of chance," they said.
They also say that they consider the joint action of all relevant actors in society necessary, in order to help and educate young people, especially minors, in order to show them all the dangers of creating a gambling addiction.
"In this sense, it is necessary to focus on the affirmation of those hobbies and activities that promote healthy lifestyles. We also emphasize the need for the organizers of games of chance to work on the promotion of responsible gambling through clear messages addressed to young people, as well as the use of mechanisms to help everyone who potentially have a problem with gambling. In this direction, the Gaming Authority will make a full contribution to achieving a positive impact on the young generation," they conclude in the statement.
