The Swiss company 8B Capital, which leased the Čeličana and Kovačnica ironworks for 50 years, will enter Željezara on October 1st and start the lease, while a month later, on November 1st, they will take over 25 workers, and 150 in half a year.
This was unofficially told to "Vijesta" by Elektropriveda Crne Gore (EPCG).
The Swiss company and EPCG signed the contract two days ago, and this morning also signed the notarial document, which makes the document legally valid.
At today's meeting of the Board of Directors of EPCG Željezara Nikšić, graduate traffic engineer Miloš Nikolić was elected as acting director of that company, who was offered the position a month ago, but he refused. The board accepted the request for dismissal submitted more than a month ago by the former executive director of Željezara Nevenka Janković.
Recently, the representative of the Swiss company, Igor Šamis, announced that the available equipment in the Iron and Steel Plant enables the production of more than 300 tons of steel.
He then pointed out that it is necessary to produce about 100 thousand tons of raw steel in order to produce about five thousand different alloy steel profiles in Kovačnica, and that the difference of up to 300 thousand tons should be used for the production of high-quality concrete steel.
Šamis said that hot-rolled strips should also be produced in Kovačnica, as well as the other range of products that the market is looking for.
