The announcement of a tender for the construction of a bridge over the Tara on the way to the future ski resort Žarski is the beginning of the realization of only one of the projects that the Government promised Mojkovac, which is not enough, but it is encouraging.
This was said by the vice president of the Municipality Ivan Ashanin (URA), which still claims that the condition for the survival of the government in that city is the intensification of activities on all projects outlined in the capital budget.
Ašanin explains to "Vijesti" that his goal is not new elections in Mojkovac, but that submitting his resignation would be a moral act for all government constituents, if the Government does not act more responsibly.
"Implementation of the projects outlined in the capital budget is a condition for the survival of the current government. Projects, primarily those related to the ski resort, stopped with the 44th Government. The announcement of the tender for the bridge is encouraging, but I am afraid that the tender will not go through. For example, the tender for the base station was announced twice and no one responded, due to the poorly estimated tender value. Such situations are not rare even when it comes to other projects. I think that this slows down the implementation of key projects, and throws dust in the eyes of the public that something is being tried", claims Ašanin.
He reminds that the biggest development project in Mojkovac is the future ski resort, which, he claims, is important for the development of both summer and winter tourism.
On September 19, the Traffic Administration announced a tender worth EUR 3,199 million for the construction of a bridge over the Tara River, on the section of the road from Mojkovac, to Podbišće, to the Vragodo ski resort. That project is part of the reconstruction of the road Mojkovac - Lubnice, and the bridge would open the way to the ski resort, whose valorization Mojkovac has been planning for a long time.
The Mojkovac - Vragodo road section, eight kilometers long, was previously built by the Bemax company, and the project cost 13,2 million euros. Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić during her visit to Mojkovac in August, she said that the Tara bridge is a priority project, which will provide tourists in that town with better access to the Žarski ski resort.
The vice president of the municipality of Ašanin said at the beginning of September that "if the state of projects related to Mojkovac remains at the current level, there is no purpose in remaining in the positions of the current government". Previously, he expressed such a position at the session of the Municipal Assembly (SO), and he stated the same in the Information on the status of development projects, which he sent to the President of the Municipality Vesko Delic.
Commenting on his statements, Delić (For the future of Mojkovac) and the president of the SO Marko Janketić (Democrats) said that there will be projects, but also that they are not running away from the election either. Both of them expect that the Government, in cooperation with the local administration, will intensify and complete all started projects in that city, including those related to the future ski center in Bjelasica.
The local government in Mojkovac consists of the coalition For the Future of Mojkovac (Nova, Democratic People's Party, Movement for Changes, Workers' Party, Socialist People's Party), Democrats, URA, United Montenegro and the group of citizens "Ne damo Mojkovac". The last local elections in that city were held in December 2021, when the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) lost power. The local parliament consists of 31 councilors, and the current government is made possible by 17 councilors. The URA has two councilors and if they were to withhold their support, the new government would not be able to be constituted.
