The Customs Administration announced today that it achieved an increase in revenue collection of nine percent in the period January-September 2024.
"The Customs Administration aims to provide efficient collection of revenues, which significantly contributes to the increase of total budget revenues with the application of strong fiscal policy measures. In the period from the beginning of January to the end of September 2024, a good trend in the collection of customs revenues was achieved. The realized gross collection amounted to is EUR 965 million, which represents an increase in income of EUR 79 million, or nine percent more compared to the same period of the previous year, while the income plan for the period January-September 2024 was exceeded by EUR 17 million, or two percent," he points out. in the announcement of the Customs Administration.
From that institution, they added that according to the structure of collected revenues, there was an increase in revenue collection for all types of duties.
"The most significant increase in income was realized on the basis of excise duty, which was collected in the amount of 285 million euros, which compared to the same period in 2023 was 38,5 million euros more, or 16 percent. On the basis of VAT on imports, is the gross collection in the amount of 633 million euros, while the collection based on customs amounted to 45 million euros," said the Customs Administration.
They state that the collection of tax on coffee amounted to two million euros, and that other revenues were collected in the amount of 114 thousand euros.
"The total realized collection of customs revenues for September 2024 amounted to EUR 112.303.389,62, which compared to the same period last year is EUR 6.725.530,91 more, i.e. 6,37%", concludes the statement of the Administration. customs.
