The Ministry of Tourism asked the Ministry of Public Administration to conduct an urgent inspection in order to prevent the "holding of an illegally convened session of the Assembly of the Budva Tourist Organization" which was scheduled for today at 12 noon, "Vijesti" has learned.
In this letter, the Ministry of Tourism states that they were informed that the Vice-President of the Municipality of Budva, Jasna Dokić, scheduled this Assembly contrary to the Law on Tourist Organizations and the Statute of TO Budva.
They state that the assembly was convened by an unauthorized person, because Article 38 of the Statute of TO Budva stipulates that the function of its president is given to the President of the Municipality, who convenes and presides over the Assembly of TO Budva. The statute also provides that in the absence of the President of the Municipality, the Assembly of TO Budva is convened and presided over by the oldest member of the Assembly.
The invitation for today's Assembly was printed on the letterhead of the Municipality of Budva and with the seal of the Municipality of Budva, not the To Budva seal, which is a legal obligation.
The invitation for this Assembly was not received by the National Tourist Organization, which is against the law.
The Ministry of Tourism, as competent for the implementation of the Law on Tourist Organizations, believes that there was an obvious violation of the law and the convening of the Assembly session of TO Budva, which is why it is asking the Ministry of Public Administration, which is responsible for supervising the implementation of the Law on Local Self-Government, and with whom finds the administrative inspection to conduct an urgent inspection in order to prevent the holding of an illegally convened session and to ensure compliance with the law.
