Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) nurture exceptional good-neighborly relations, and we should think about more intensive air connections, said the Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian ambassador in Podgorica, Branimir Jukić.

The interlocutors agreed that the two countries foster exceptional good-neighborly relations, which was also recognized in the reports of the European Commission.

Jukić stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the biggest markets for Montenegro, and added that the number of visits is growing even outside the season.

Kordić confirmed that the cooperation of the competent ministries is also excellent, adding that there is certainly room for improvement.

"Physical, cultural and mental closeness form the basis of more than good relations. This is exactly why we feel at home in Bosnia and Herzegovina, just like you in Montenegro. Taking everything into account, I believe that we should think about more intensive air connections and so-called weekend tourism with better connectivity," said Kordić.

Jukić also congratulated Montenegro on fulfilling the European agenda.

"Montenegro is a leader on the European road. I want to emphasize that you have the full and sincere support of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this. I am convinced that in the foreseeable future the countries of the Western Balkans will be an integral part of the European Union, which will solve some of the problems that burden tourism," said Jukić.

Kordić added that for Montenegro the process of integration into the EU is an absolute foreign policy priority, and that there is no other option, which is why she hopes that this Government will be able to take advantage of the opportunity that is being offered to it.

The meeting was also attended by state secretaries Vuk Žižić and Petar Drašković.
