The government of Milojko Spajić managed to borrow 1,046 billion euros from the citizens, i.e., the state of Montenegro, with its last debt in less than a year since its formation, which represents an absolute negative record when it comes to debts of a government in the first year, it was announced from Građanski movement (GP) URA.
"With this, all our announcements, made long before the formation of the Spajić Government, have come true, that their goal will be to put the state in debt for more than one billion euros at any cost, thereby destabilizing our public finances and jeopardizing their sustainability. And all in order to currently fulfill their populist promises on the basis of which they assumed political positions, and which they use exclusively to achieve their personal interests," the URA states.
They reminded that the Government of Dritan Abazović "indebted the state for only 100 million euros" during its entire mandate, and that all that money was "waiting in the treasury for the new Government".
"Also, Abazović's government raised the average salary from 520 to 809 euros, in addition to that, it also increased the salaries of educators, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the prosecution, the judiciary, public administration, health workers, increased the minimum pension from 150 to almost 300 euros, and all other pensions at an average of 18 percent, returned the ferries, Željezar, increased the shares of Luka Bar and Elektroprivreda, reduced the public debt to 60 percent of GDP and with all that regularly serviced all its obligations. And now we have the fact that Spajić's "The government has indebted the citizens for over one billion euros, and we have not even had a chance to realize the megalomaniacal capital projects that Spajić announced, such as the start of the construction of a new section of the highway in September," the URA statement reads.
