The anchorage in Dobrota, located opposite the Faculty of Maritime Affairs in Kotor, is out of use as of today, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs announced.
"In the future, two locations in the Bay of Kotor will be used for anchoring ships, namely in Kamenarovići and Orahovac coves," the announcement states.
The relocation of the anchorage was initiated by the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management, in order to improve the safety of navigation in the bay, considering that the previous anchorage hindered the free passage of vessels entering and leaving the Port of Kotor, or moving through that area.
"The previous anchorage in Dobrota, due to its position, prevented safe navigation for yachts, ships, motorboats and fishing boats," the statement added.
The relocation of the anchorage was carried out on the basis of the Government's conclusion, and in accordance with Annex 1 of the Agreement on the priority concession from April this year.
"It was decided that the change will be applied from November 1, in order to preserve reservations, the credibility of the Port of Kotor and the reputation of Montenegro as a tourist destination," the announcement concludes.
