The Pljevlja - Mijakovići road, the section from Mijaković to Vrulja, will be in operation from August next year, confirmed to "Vijesta" from the construction company Bemax, which was recently hired to build the road after the Traffic Administration terminated the contract with the previous contractor at the beginning of the year. due to the delay.
Bemax said that the company was introduced to the business on October 21 and that the deadline for completing the work is ten months.
"The deadline for completion is 10 months, so in August next year this road will be in operation. The works are being carried out according to the expected dynamics and in accordance with the technical standards and regulations for this type of work", the biggest construction company in Montenegro replied to "Vijesti".
They say that they will start asphalting three kilometers of road on Monday.
"In accordance with the contract that was signed with the investor - the Traffic Administration, the construction of the pavement construction of part of the route, asphalting, construction of culverts, retaining walls on the route and bridges is foreseen. We are currently carrying out works on bridges and routes. It is important to note that we are carrying out preparatory work for asphalting a 3-kilometer route. Asphalting is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 4.
The Bemax company was the only one to submit an offer in the tender that the Traffic Administration announced on July 13. The company from Podgorica submitted an offer in the amount of 6.361 euros, which is about two thousand euros less than the estimated value of the works.
It remains to build two bridges, 128 and 160 meters long, to pave certain sections and to complete smaller works.
Work on the construction of the 7,5 kilometer long section of the road Pljevlja - Bijelo Polje, from the village of Vrulja to the connection to the regional road Pljevlja - Đurđevića Tara in the village of Mijakovići, has entered its sixth year.
They were supposed to be completed by the beginning of June 2020, a year after they started.
In 2019, the Traffic Administration signed a contract with the company "Tehnoput-MNE" on the construction of that section of the road Pljevlja - Bijelo Polje.
"Tehnoput" offered a price of 8,69 million euros, which was about two and a half million less than the estimated value of the works.
According to the contract, the contractor was supposed to complete the work in 365 days, i.e. by June 8, 2020.
According to the dynamic plan, which was adopted in the meantime, the works on this section of the road were supposed to be completed by the end of last year, but even that deadline was not met.
Due to the increase in the prices of construction materials and energy sources, the company "Tehnoput MNE" previously informed the Traffic Administration that it could not carry out works on the road according to the agreed prices, but this problem was solved in the meantime after the previous Government adopted conclusions, which enabled certain types of assistance to contractors to complete the started work.
The construction of the section of the road Vrulja - Mijakovići starts from the intersection with the regional road R-11 Slijepač most - Trlica, locality Vrulja, to the intersection in Mijakovići and joining the main road Pljevlja - Đurđevića Tara, with a total length of 7,5 kilometers.
The project envisages the construction of an intersection with the roads to Sljepač most and Trlica, as well as an intersection with the roads to Đurđevića Tara and Pljevlja.
Earlier, the section of the road from Sljepač bridge to Vrulja was also reconstructed.
After the completion of the works on this section of the road, the traffic connection between Pljevlja and other cities in the north of Montenegro will be significantly improved.
In September of last year, the inhabitants of several villages in Pljevlja, through which the new route of the Mijakovići - Vrulja - Bijelo Polje road passes, protested because the contractor did not complete the breakthrough of thirty meters of the road for two years, so they were forced to use an unconditional temporary road.
