When it comes to aviation, Montenegro has achieved a good level of compliance with the legal acquis of the European Union (EU), it was stated in a new report of the European Commission (EC).
"This also shows that the Civil Aviation Agency (ACA) works dedicatedly to achieve progress in this area and monitors the development of civil aviation, with the aim of constantly ensuring safety and security in air traffic," the CAA announced.
In the report of the EC for Montenegro, it was stated, among other things, that before the transition to the second phase of the ECAA agreement is possible, it is necessary to fulfill certain requirements related to the protection of competition and state aid.
The Agency for the Protection of Competition (AZK) also informed EC representatives on this issue during the June meeting of the Joint ECAA Board in Podgorica.
"When organizing the Joint Committee with the EC, the CAA achieved the necessary coordination with the AZK in order to present the results of that jurisdiction to the EU and seek guidelines for further encouraging progress," the statement added.
ECAA is the Agreement on the creation of a common European aviation area.
Montenegro is one of the signatories of this agreement, which is important in the EU enlargement process and for the economic development of the countries, and the ECAA Joint Committee is responsible for its implementation and proper application.
