Digitization is key to improving services, while the effective transition of young people from school to work is essential for economic growth and social development, said the director of the Employment Service (ZZZ), David Perčobić.

He took part in the two-day annual conference of the Center for Public Employment Services of Southeast European Countries (CPESSEC), which is organized by the National Employment Agency and is held in Romania.

The conference covered two key topics - Digitization of public services for employment at the managerial level and Facilitating the transition from school to work at the professional level.

The conference emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the education system and the labor market, i.e. schools, universities and employers, in order to facilitate the transition of young people from school desks to the professional world and ensure the relevance of the education and skills that young people acquire.

The CPESSEC conference provided a platform for the exchange of ideas and best practices, and the participants said they were ready to continue cooperation and joint action to improve public employment services.

CPESSEC is a regional organization for the exchange of information and experience in providing services to employers and the unemployed, as well as strengthening the capacity of public employment services. It brings together representatives and experts in the field of the labor market of national public employment services of the countries of Southeast Europe, and its members are Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Romania and Turkey.

The organization operates according to the principle of rotating presidency, so Slovenia will take over the chairmanship of CPESSEC next year.
