The action "Limited prices" of the 44th Government of Montenegro, without jeopardizing the continuity of market supply, had an effect on the stabilization and lowering of the prices of basic foodstuffs as well as on the overall low rate of inflation in Montenegro, announced today the Vice President of the Government of Montenegro and Minister of Economic Development Nik Đeljošaj.
"In October of this year, the total annual inflation rate fell to 1,2%. According to Monstat data, the monthly inflation rate for October is 0%, which means that prices did not change compared to September," Đeljošaj pointed out in the announcement. .
He added that a drop in prices was recorded in the "food and non-alcoholic beverages" product group in the amount of -0,1 percent, i.e. the inflation rate is negative in relation to these products.
"Taking into account the above, it is clear that the action 'Limited prices' of the 44th Government of Montenegro, without jeopardizing the continuity of market supply, influenced the stabilization and lowering of the prices of basic foodstuffs as well as the overall low rate of inflation in Montenegro. Ministry of Economic Development will continue to continuously monitor the prices of basic foodstuffs according to the established methodology and accordingly propose measures to protect citizens' standards," Đeljošaj said.
