There will be no increase in electricity bills in any form from January 2025, Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić announced.
The Government announced that after the Energy Regulatory Agency decided to increase prices for network services, which would make electricity more expensive from January 2025, today Spajić met with Minister of Energy Saša Mujović, Director of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) Vladimir Ivanović and Director of Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES) Ivan Asanović.
After the meeting, Spajić said that from January 1, 2025, electricity bills for citizens will remain the same and pointed out that the Government respects the decision of the independent regulator and preserves the stability of the energy sector, but finds a way to protect citizens, who will not feel an increase in network services on their bills , nor from next year.
"The government respects the decision of the regulator and preserves the stability of the energy sector, but it has found a way to protect citizens, who, after EPCG did not increase the price of active energy, will not even feel an increase in network services on their bills. Therefore, there is no increase in electricity bills in any form for our citizens, from January 2025." said the prime minister.
The Regulatory Agency for Energy and Regulated Utilities (REGAGEN) announced yesterday that the price of electricity will increase by 2025 percent from January 3,41 for all households with a dual-tariff meter.
Almost all households in Montenegro belong to this category.
