Despite the many dilemmas that can be heard and read these days, the "Boljanina" interchange will still be designed through the third section of the Bar-Boljara highway, said the president of the municipality of Bijelo Polje, Petar Smolović.
He said this today at the session of the Municipal Assembly, adding that it is of vital importance for the survival and development of Bijelo Polje.
Smolović said this, responding to the question of Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) councilor Elvira Zvrka, who was interested in "does the Municipality of Bijelo Polje have certain obligations and activities related to planning the continuation of the construction of the highway and especially the construction of the interchange for Bijelo Polje?"
Smolović said that the design through the third section was agreed upon at a meeting with the Minister of Transport, Maja Vukićević, and the director of Monteput, Milan Ljiljanić, which was also attended by all nine members of the state parliament from Bijelo Polje.
The presence of all deputies was proposed by the president of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, and the minister accepted.
"Everyone was of the same opinion that this loop must be built in order for Bijelo Polje and its economy to survive and develop, and in particular, to develop the Đalovića cave, which is in the immediate vicinity, four kilometers from the mentioned loop, while from loop Crnča was 42 kilometers in one direction. The only dilemma is whether the connecting road will go on the left or right side of the Boljanska river, with a calculated traffic speed of 60 or 80 km/h, and be eight or 8.5 kilometers long," said Smolović.
He emphasized that the interchange itself is not expensive and will cost between three and four million euros, but that the price of the connecting road is significantly higher, which, depending on the chosen route, will cost between 20 and 30 million euros, according to experts from Monteput.
Smolović said that it is planned to build an expressway to Pljevlje on the Crnča interchange, but that in that case it would be 25 kilometers from Bijelo Polje, and thus far from Bjelopolje.
"It has been agreed to form an expert team with the participation of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, which will attend the meetings in 'Monteput' during the design of this loop and possible connecting roads", said Smolović, adding that when the residents of Bjelo Polje are united, they can do a lot.
