Completion of the reconstruction of the intersection at the entrance to Plav will significantly improve the flow and safety of traffic, said Minister Maja Vukićević.
"I must point out that, compared to the old traffic solution of this intersection, we now have an intersection with a circular flow of traffic provided by the project. The value of the investment is EUR 300," said Vukićević, who visited the works in the Municipality of Plav today with the Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Milun Zogović.
Vukićević and Zogović, together with the President of the Municipality of Plav, toured the completed works at the intersection at the entrance to Plav on regional road R-2, Berane-Grnčar.
"This is the continuation of investment in traffic infrastructure on the territory of Plav Municipality, and other numerous projects in the north of Montenegro are also planned," said Zogović.
It was announced from the Ministry of Transport that this government department, in cooperation with the Transport Administration, recognized the lack of technical solutions at other intersections on the main and regional roads, and started implementing projects to improve traffic safety at intersections as soon as possible.
"The main projects for the 20 most important intersections have been completed, and the selection process for contractors is underway. Next year, we expect the completion of works on the 20 mentioned intersections, one of which is in Murin, which, along with the intersection at the entrance to Plav, will improve traffic flow and safety at the two most important intersections on the territory of the municipality," said Vukićević.
