The Directorate for Statistics Monstat successfully conducted the Census of Agriculture on the territory of Montenegro in the period from October 1 to December 1.
Monstat announced that the Census included the collection of data on all key aspects of agricultural production, i.e. accurate and internationally comparable data on the number of agricultural holdings, the area of total used agricultural land by categories of use, livestock by species and categories, persons participating in agricultural production and other useful activities, facilities for housing livestock, method of storing manure, application of manure and mineral fertilizers, irrigation, land management practices, machines and equipment.
"The goal of the Agricultural Census was to collect accurate, comprehensive and internationally comparable data that will serve as a basis for making strategic decisions in the field of sustainable agricultural policy," the announcement states.
The realization of the Census of Agriculture also fulfilled an important activity in the process of European integration, whereby Chapter 18: Statistics fulfilled one of the key recommendations in the field of official statistics, thanks to the expertise, professionalism and dedication of the team of the Directorate for Statistics that worked on the preparation and realization of the Census of Agriculture.
"The Directorate for Statistics, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, local self-governments and the scientific community, managed to prepare and implement the largest statistical action and thereby provide a platform for making important decisions in the field of agriculture, so we hereby express our gratitude to everyone for the cooperative, professional and professional attitude towards this statistical action", they said from Monstat.
Bearing in mind the complexity of that research, Monstat owes special thanks to the agricultural producers who participated in this activity and with their contribution helped to obtain a realistic picture of the state of agriculture in Montenegro.
"We inform the public that the preliminary results of the Census of Agriculture will be published no later than 90 days after the end of the Census of Agriculture, at the aggregate level for the territory of Montenegro," the announcement states.
The Directorate for Statistics will publish the final results of the Census of Agriculture according to the activity plan of the Census of Agriculture, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner.
