The Port of Bar has signed a contract with the renowned company "Hamburg Port Consulting", which in the next two months will conduct a detailed analysis of the operations of the company "Port of Adria", which is currently managed by the Turkish company "Global Ports", announced the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović.

His statement was delivered by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs in a press release.

"The aim of the analysis is to assess the possibility of buying 'Port of Adria' from the current owners and unifying it with Port of Bar," said Radulović.

The announcement adds that the analysis will be focused on the financial aspects of "Port of Adria" operations, and based on its results, the Government will begin negotiations on the purchase.

"We believe that the separation of these two companies was a wrong move that harmed the national interest. The merger of the Port of Bar and the Port of Adria would create greater development potential, which would significantly contribute to the economy of Montenegro," stressed Radulović.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs stated that the potential unification is a strategic priority of the Government, and that it is expected that the analysis of the company "Hamburg Port Consulting" will be completed in the next eight weeks, after which it will move to the phase of negotiations with the current owners in order to define the conditions of the possible acquisitions and mergers.

"The Government of Montenegro continues to take decisive steps towards strengthening key economic sectors, with a special focus on shipping and infrastructure development," the announcement concludes.
