The government will pay over 7,7 million euros to the former employees of "Radoj Dakić" in the name of outstanding wages.
It is stated that after the established amendments to the Law on the Budget for this year, the Government concluded that the conditions have been met for the fulfillment of its positive obligation to execute specific undisputed final and enforceable court decisions made in favor of other former employees of "Radoj Dakić", based on whose claims are recognized in bankruptcy proceedings.
It is added that the number of workers, whose claims have not been paid in full, amounts to 1,5 thousand.
"On this occasion, the Ministry of Finance is tasked to transfer 15 euros to the escrow account of the Commercial Court, no later than December 7.787.128, in order to settle claims from and on the basis of work for all remaining employees of "Radoj Dakić", which have not been settled so far during the bankruptcy proceedings," the statement said.
At today's session, the Government also approved the Bill on Voluntary Pension Funds.
As stated, the proposed law created prerequisites for the further development and improvement of the system of individual capitalized savings with a direct impact on the better future social security of citizens, with the provision of permanent and efficient social protection that should ensure a decent standard of living in old age.
"The aim of this regulation is to improve the business environment, the development of voluntary pension funds in Montenegro, as well as the establishment of an adequate regulatory and supervisory framework for the activities of pension fund management companies in Montenegro, harmonized with the legal acquis of the European Union (EU) in this area", they said from the Government.
As stated, this should have a positive impact on both the capital market and indirectly on the operations of the real sector and the economy as a whole.
"Pension savings is a periodic payment in money that is paid to a person who has exercised the right to it after fulfilling the conditions prescribed by the proposed law, whereby the payments can take the form of lifetime payments, periodic payments, one-time payments or any combination of the above," says the announcement. They stated that from the point of view of fiscal treatment, in accordance with the current as well as the proposed law, pension savings represent part of the already taxed net amount of citizens' funds.
At the session, the Government also established the Proposal for the Law on Energy, with a report from the public hearing, which will further harmonize the legislation of Montenegro with the EU acquis in that area - Directive (EU) 2019/944 on common rules for the internal electricity market.
"The Directive establishes common rules for the generation, transmission, distribution and storage of energy and the supply of electricity, together with consumer protection provisions, in order to create truly integrated, competitive, flexible, fair and transparent consumer-oriented electricity markets in the Union", it is stated in the announcement.
