The Ministry of Health indicated to the Ministry of Finance (MOF) that, according to the current collective agreement for healthcare in this area, not enough funds are provided for the position of doctors who are sent abroad by healthcare institutions for specialist and sub-specialist education.
The MoF said that the expert services of the Ministry reacted and offered a model for solving this issue.
"We support every type of professional training and we expect the Ministry of Health to officially submit a request on this basis to the Ministry of Finance, after which the finalization of this issue will be started, in the interest of strengthening the health system," the announcement states.
"In the past year, the Ministry of Finance intensively and regularly communicates with the relevant Ministry of Health about the possibilities of supporting the training of employees in the health system. During a series of constructive discussions, it was concluded that it is necessary to invest in continuous medical education, since health is one of the most important pillars of every society," the announcement reads.
The MoF said that thanks to the better organization of this program, this year's budget for training in the field of health, that is, the specialization of young doctors, is twice as large compared to last year.
