Tourist agencies and organizations, owners of registered rural accommodation from Mojkovac, Bijelo Polje and Pljevlja, local tourist organizations of those cities, licensed tourist guides from this region, the Museum of Pljevlja joined together in the joint tourism project Rural North 4 Seasons (Rural North for all seasons). .

As the director of the "Balkanika" Tourist Agency, who is also the creator and the project holder, Ivana Milićević Kalić, said, the essence is to use the already existing capacities in the north through rebranding and adding new activities that enable all participants to engage for a longer period of time, that is, only dependence from the summer season, but extending the season to all seasons.

"Thus, in addition to the aforementioned activities in the warmer months, guests will be able to book snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, and visits to remote rural households during the winter. A big emphasis in the project is the village, i.e. accommodation in rural areas, meals during the activities planned in those places, as well as the presentation of old crafts and knowledge as a complementary part of the activities in nature. We used the existing registered accommodations, some of the existing routes for hiking and cycling, and supplemented them with new offers in the regions of the north that have not been popularized at all," said Milićević Kalić.

The project envisages the procurement of electric bicycles, kayaks for faster water, and equipment for arranging two themed trails - one trail for horse riding in Mojkovac, and the other named Paleolithic Paths in the Ćehotina River region.

"We are also in the stage of creating a kayaking tour on the Lim, which will probably be the biggest challenge in the project due to the huge amount of garbage in the river. All the details of the tours and packages will be available online, so that clients can find out about all the details online before arriving and reserve their choice from the options offered," she said.

The potential of that project, which is still in its infancy, as Milićević Kalić explained, was recognized by the Ministry of Tourism.

From that agency, they invited all registered providers of accommodation in rural regions to inform themselves about the possibilities for inclusion and joining existing accommodations.

"The fact that we already have confirmed reservations for 2025, for some of the offers, gives us hope that this idea has potential," Milićević-Kalić concluded.
