The state company "Monteput" has announced a tender for the design of the Adriatic-Ionian highway, i.e. for the section from Čevo in Cetinje to Nudo in Nikšić. That route is 33 kilometers long and leads to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and the work is worth 96 thousand euros.
This, among other things, is written in the tender documentation published at the end of November on the Montenegrin Electronic Public Procurement (CeJN) website. This tender will last from November 27 to December 13.
The goal of creating this documentation is to examine variants and determine the optimal route of the Jadranko-Ionian highway. According to the Spatial Plan of Montenegro (PPCG), it is planned that the highway will intersect with the Bar-Boljare route near the Podgorica settlement Ćafa, from where it will continue to the west, i.e. from Čevo via Grahov and Nudol.
According to the tender, interchanges on Čevo and Grahovo will be built on the section, while the planned speed of movement is 100 kilometers per hour. It is emphasized that the road will cross the existing highway Lipci-Grahovo-Vilusi, so the loop will be built in that part in order to create a connection with the existing road network.
It should be noted that the highway in the Grahovski polje area was laid on the slopes on the southern side, which completely preserved the field.
"This task defines the conditions for the preparation of the conceptual design of the Čevo-Nudo section (border with Bosnia and Herzegovina), which will examine the route of this road as part of the future Adriatic-Ionian highway. Since the creation of the PPCG is underway, the intention of which is to define unique corridors of the main traffic routes, the selected routes will be implemented in the PPCG by 2040. Also, a better connection with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia will be achieved, with the aim of improving regional and economic cooperation and development", the tender documentation points out.
At the end of May, the locals of Koman submitted a request to revise the proposed solutions given in the PPCG draft until 2040, and in a letter to the Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and the competent ministers pointed out that with the proposed solution for the route of the Bar-Boljari highway and the Adriatic-Ionian highway, their tribe will be destroyed and forced to move from their centuries-old hearth.
They explained that the crossing of the roads is in the most fertile and densely populated part of Koman-Ćafa, which would mean that the route of the Adriatic-Ionian highway would go through the central part of Koman, which would mean the destruction of the communities there, and that they would not allow it.
