Opposition MPs in the Parliamentary Committee for Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning sent a request for a control hearing of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Vladimir Joković.
The proposed topic is "(I)responsibility of the Government of Montenegro for the management of the assets of the company 'July 13 - Plantations'".
The request, sent to the chairman of the committee, Dejan Đurović, is signed by deputies: Oskar Huter, Aleksandra Despotović, Drita Lola (DPS), Branislav Nenezić (SD) and Ana Novaković Đurović (URA).
"The sale of 19 plots and over 10.000 square meters, along with the accompanying property, raises serious questions about the legality, transparency and purpose of this procedure, especially in light of the earlier introduction of excise taxes on still wines, which significantly affected Montenegrin viticulture. The government, which has ownership rights in Plantaže, is not did not provide a clear position or explanation about the sale, which raises doubts about the management of state assets and indicates a possible intention to conceal losses in business questions about the motives of the sale, its consequences for the public interest and the Government's strategy for preserving this strategically important economic activity," the explanation reads.
They said that they want to convene a board meeting as soon as possible, in order to protect the interests of citizens and state resources.
