The Ministry of Maritime Affairs is actively working on improving the maritime infrastructure, developing strategic plans and promoting Montenegrin ports as key points for sustainable development and nautical tourism, announced the Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović.

At the international Maritime and Port Logistics conference, which is being held in Bar, he said that through cooperation with the private and public sector, the development of the investment environment and the implementation of key development projects continue.

"One of the significant steps forward of Montenegro in this sector is joining the organization of European seaports, which enables technical support in areas such as sustainable development, intermodal transport, port administration and other key sectors," said Radulović.

As he stated, the Ministry is proud that Montenegro will host the final Ocean Race Europe regatta in September next year, which represents an opportunity to promote sustainability, environmental awareness and preservation of the marine ecosystem.

"As part of the infrastructural development, the extension of the water area of the Port of Bar is planned, which significantly improves the capacity and competitiveness of the port. In addition, through a project financed by the World Bank (WB), it is planned to establish modern transport systems, such as the Port Community System, which will further facilitate trade and improve logistics capacities," said Radulović.

The Ministry, according to its representatives, is continuously working on the improvement of maritime lines.

In addition to the existing Budva-Dubrovnik line, a new Kotor-Dubrovnik line will be introduced next year, while the Ancona-Bar ferry line was renewed this year.

"Montenegro continues to invest in the modernization and promotion of its maritime infrastructure, making it an attractive destination for modern and sustainable travel," the announcement concludes.
