A group of citizens who are trying to recover 7,65 thousand square meters of land from the state "Plantaž" gathered again at the roundabout on the Cetinje road, i.e. the intersection between Podgorica, Nikšić and Cetinje.
Slavko Stojanović, who claims to be one of the owners of this plot, told "Vijesta" that they are protesting and demanding that the state company prove the origin of the acquisition of this land and return the plot.
"We will defend the land with our lives and we will also gather in front of the Parliament building next week. Protests will be held once every seven to ten days. We have already sent initiatives to the delegation of the European Union, the Embassy of the United States of America and the Ombudsman," he said.
These disgruntled citizens claim that this state-owned company registered their land in Gornja Gorica and then sold it. The company "Plantaže" put this plot up for auction at the end of November, through the sale of land with a total area of 10,62 thousand square meters, at the lowest price of 1.077.500 euros.
Stojanović emphasized that so far they have only had a meeting in the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, but that nothing specific has been decided, while other institutions do not respond to their appeals.
They previously submitted initiatives about their problem to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, President Jakov Milatović, the Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).
The citizens believe that they are the real owners of the plot and that it should not have been sold. They pointed out that the land has dozens of owners, that the state nationalized it and then returned it in 1994, after which it was registered to the state company in 2003.
The state-owned "Plantaž" previously stated that the property in question is not active, that it creates additional real estate tax costs for them and does not contribute to the company's strategic goals. They emphasized that there are no registered burdens or restrictions on this land and that the citizens' claims that the land is theirs are groundless.
