The European team for Herceg Novi left the session: "A fraud is being prepared, Igalo will get concrete instead of medicinal mud"

Councilors of the European Team for Herceg Novi club left the local parliament session today because, as they say, they do not want to participate in "the fraud that is being prepared."

"A fraud that has been planned for a long time, a fraud that is intended to put pressure on shareholders to accept this 'Plan', a 'Plan' under which a large part of the assets of the Dr. Simo Milošević Institute are being sold. A 'Plan' under which Igalo will receive concrete instead of medicinal mud. Whose concrete? This is the privatization that we all fought against together on Debeli Brijeg, this is the privatization that no one in Herceg Novi has ever supported," the statement from the councilors' club reads.

They say today's session is "political, lobbying and pointless."

"The Institute feeds a large number of families, it is not facing bankruptcy, the only question is who will build and who will run the inn! That is why the restructuring 'Plan' was kept secret, that is why it was not at the public hearing. Is it still a problem that decisions are being made in Podgorica about the Institute? The citizens of Herceg Novi deserve to wonder, because no one has built the Institute before Novljan. Today's session will not provide any answers other than self-promotion and convincing that the 'Plan' is excellent and the only way out, even though the councilors had only 48 hours to process the material and make a judgment on the fate of the Igalo Institute. We stopped the privatization in 2016, as the local DPS, and we hereby call on our fellow councilors not to succumb to political pressure and not to give legitimacy to today's farce in the highest local house," they add.

The European Team for Herceg Novi told the President of the local parliament, Ivan Otović, that "from today, we will closely monitor every article of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly." "We will contact the competent inspectorates for its violation, because we will remind you, Mr. Otović, that we are better at handling this matter than you are," the statement reads.
