At the end of last year, the employment office in Pljevlja registered 1.789 unemployed people, 404 fewer than in the same period last year. The number of unemployed people decreased by 14 compared to November last year.
Statistics from the Employment Agency show that in the industrial center of Montenegro, every fourteenth resident of Pljevlja is unemployed, where, according to the results of the census held at the end of last year, there are 24 residents.
Of the total number of unemployed women, 1.137 or 63.6 percent are women. Almost every second unemployed person, or 741 of them, is over 50 years old.
The largest number of unemployed people registered had a fourth-level education (595), of whom 414 were women.
A large number of unemployed people also have a first level of education, that is, citizens without qualifications - 473, of whom almost two thirds are women. With a second level of education, that is, with completed primary school, 71 people from Pljevlja were waiting for a job.
With the completion of their third level of education, employment awaited 415 citizens of the northernmost Montenegrin city.
At the Labor Bureau in Pljevlja at the end of June, 104 citizens with completed seventh-level and seventh-level vocational education and 108 with sixth-level education were waiting for a job.
Of the 104 unemployed people with a college degree, 71 are women.
Compared to the end of 2023, the number of unemployed university graduates decreased by almost 27, while the number of unemployed people with a sixth-level education increased by seven.
According to statistical data published by the Employment Agency, every fourth unemployed person in Pljevlja is disabled.
Over 445 unemployed persons with disabilities are registered, and most of them have a first degree.
In December last year, only 34 job vacancies were advertised, 24 of which were for the employment of candidates with a university degree.
Last year, 624 unemployed people from Pljevlja who were registered with the Employment Service found employment.
In June, 437 unemployed people registered with the Employment Service were entitled to receive cash benefits, and they were paid a total of almost eighty thousand euros, or an average of around 183 euros.
At the end of last year, the Employment Agency of Montenegro registered a total of 33.037 unemployed people, which is 168 fewer than in the previous month. Compared to the previous year, the number of unemployed people is 6.662 or 16,78 percent lower.
