After the storm, the "water terminal" was also ransacked by vandals

The so-called "Water Terminal" facility of Tivat Airport at the Blato location in Kukuljina has been once again vandalized and devastated in recent days.

Unlike the storm that significantly damaged this facility at the end of October 2023, this time it was done by unknown vandals who broke down the door to the terminal's wet facility and devastated its interior, broke the connection on the shore for supplying water to vessels docking at the terminal, tore down and broke two metal-wooden canopies on passenger benches, and damaged part of the lighting and wooden fences on the side of the terminal facing the nearby Kukuljina beach.

This facility is managed by the JP Morsko dobro from Budva, which built the "Water Terminal" of Tivat Airport at the Blato location before the start of the peak summer tourist season in 2022, acting in violation of the valid planning documentation, its own financial and work plan, as well as safety standards in civil aviation.

The Maritime Administration did this at the time, acting on the conclusion of the Government of the then Prime Minister Dritan Abazović (URA), which decided to build this temporary facility at a location where it could not possibly be installed, in order to allegedly reduce the problems that passengers from Tivat Airport have during road transfers from that airport to their final destinations, and due to the catastrophically congested Adriatic Highway through Tivat in the summer.

Mosrko Dobro invested 30.000 euros in the construction of the terminal, and significant funds have since been spent on renovation and repairs to damage caused by storms and, more recently, vandals.

The "Water Terminal", which is located outside the security-sterile zone of Tivat Airport, which is under constant supervision and control of the Airport Security Service, is only operational during the two months of the peak summer season, and even then it is used by a very small number of users.

During the rest of the year, there is no staff or Marine Protected Area guards at the "Water Terminal", nor is there video surveillance, so this facility is left to the mercy of nature, or rather, to unscrupulous citizens who devastate it.
