After British low-cost airlines EasyJet and Jet2.com announced flights to Tivat throughout the upcoming summer IATA season from April to October, another confirmation comes from Podgorica that Montenegro will have a good pre-season this year.
Namely, the German low-cost airline Eurowings, which is a member of the renowned Lufthansa Group, has announced a series of charter flights on the Salzburg (SZG) - Podgorica (TGD) route. The flights will operate from April 21 to June 9 once a week, with 16 charter rotations planned on this route.
"For Airports of Montenegro, this is an ideal opportunity to strengthen business cooperation with a renowned partner in order to open regular routes from cities where they have bases. Additionally, this confirms the trend of extending the summer tourist season, which is the goal of all tourism workers in Montenegro, to which Airports of Montenegro contribute with its incentive policy that provides for additional discounts during the off-peak summer season." - ACG announced on this occasion yesterday.
They pointed out that increasing the number of flights in the pre-season and post-season is a key step towards strengthening Montenegro's overall tourism offer.
"Montenegrin airports, in cooperation with the relevant departments, continue to work on improving the air connectivity of our country and creating conditions for stronger development of tourism and economy," said the state-owned company that manages the airports in Tivat and Podgorica.
Incidentally, Eurowings began flying seasonally to Montenegro in 2018, connecting Tivat first with Düsseldorf, where the company is headquartered, and then with Stuttgart and Berlin in Germany, and Zurich in Switzerland.
The new series of charter flights from Salzburg to Podgorica will be the first time that Eurowings connects Montenegro with the Austrian market.
Eurowings has a fleet of over 80 aircraft, various variants of Airbus models such as the A319, A320 and A321.
