Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Nik Đeljošaj, announced that he fully agrees with the unified position of the presidents of coastal municipalities and added that the summer tourist season must not be jeopardized.
He stated that his claims were supported by a letter from the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG).
"The new Law on the Coastal Zone, as we signed with the agreement on the formation of the 44th Government, defines that jurisdiction should be returned to municipalities as a matter of urgency, so that coastal municipalities can announce tenders for bathing areas based on their plans next year," said Đeljošaj.
He said that the Government's conclusion last year was to initiate procedures for beaches on time this year, and since that has not been done, the only solution is, as last year, to annex the existing beach contracts as last year, something that the Chamber of Commerce is also advocating for.
"Of course, it is expected that answers will be given as to why the implementation of the Government's conclusions was not initiated on time, and those responsible should be sanctioned, because it is unacceptable to once again question the readiness of the beaches for the tourist season, that is, now the list of all tenants had to be known in order to start preparations, and the authorities have not even announced tenders, and now it is already too late for this year and we must not risk chaos," said Đeljošaj.
