The average January electricity bill for households in Montenegro, excluding unread metering points in buildings that are not permanently inhabited, is 46,16 euros.
"Households in Mojkovac recorded the lowest average consumption of 25,98 euros, while the highest average consumption in the previous month was recorded in Tivat, where households consumed an average of 57,56 euros worth of electricity," said a statement from the Electric Power Company (EPCG).
The company said that 54,8 percent of households will receive a bill worth up to 30 euros, 30 percent of consumers will receive a bill worth between 50 and 13,54 euros, 50 percent of customers will receive a bill worth between 100 and 20,35 euros, while 100 percent of them will receive a bill worth over 11,35 euros.
"The number of consumers who received a discount is 162,56 thousand, or 44,9 percent of households in Montenegro," the statement added.
Also, 15,43 thousand households in Pljevlja, by decision of the Board of Directors, received a 30 percent discount, with the aim of reducing air pollutants, and taking into account the importance of the Pljevlja Coal Mine and Thermal Power Plant (TPP) for electricity stability in Montenegro.
"An additional discount of 6,4 percent on network services is also granted to all households connected to the EPCG electricity distribution system, regardless of the amount of debt, in order to neutralize the increase in network service prices," the statement specifies.
Households consumed 164,64 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity in January, which is 1,34 percent more than in December, and 3,26 percent more than in January last year.
