In the international tender for the project to relocate the Ćehotina riverbed, which the Coal Mine announced on December 31 last year, two consortiums of companies from Montenegro and the region submitted documentation.
The value of the project is 16,2 million euros excluding VAT, and it is divided into three phases. “In the previous period, the Pljevlja Coal Mine successfully carried out works worth 2,96 million euros independently, in order to reduce project costs.
The tender stipulates that the company that is introduced into the work will perform, among other things, engineering and construction works, construction of bridges and roads, pipelines, structures, communication and energy lines, hydro-engineering lines, river walls and waterways, and other works defined in the tender documentation. The deadline for the execution of the project contract is 210 days from the introduction of the contractor into the work. In accordance with the tender rules, in the following period the commission will evaluate the received documentation, after which it will decide on the ranking and selection of the bidders," the Coal Mine said in a statement.
They emphasize that the project to relocate the flow of the Ćehotina River is of the utmost national importance.
"Without the stable operation of the Coal Mine and the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant, there is no energy stability in Montenegro, because when we talk about coal reserves, it should be noted that they will be unsatisfactory for the normal operation of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant in 2026 if the implementation of the Ćehotina River Flow Relocation Project is not completed within the planned deadline. Therefore, the Project must be completed in coordination with the ecological reconstruction project by the end of the 2025 construction season. As is known to the public, the works were delayed due to the receipt of UT conditions in 2019, according to which the project could not be implemented. In parallel with the works on coal mining and overburden, after obtaining the permit, the new management started the works on the excavation of the new Ćehotina River bed, as well as tender procedures in order to complete this extremely important project for the Montenegrin electric power system on time," the statement concludes.
The statement does not mention the names of the consortium of companies that submitted bids, and according to information from Vijesti, the consortium HSV Preduzeće za hydrogradnju i nišgradnju i vosokogradnju DOO Vlasotince, the company Opticus ing doo Belgrade-Rakovica and the company for design, engineering and execution of works Kolubara doo Mionica applied for the tender. Their bid is for the amount of 16.169.336 euros.
A bid for the amount of 15.044.944 euros was also submitted by the consortium Aquamont doo, AQUA MONT service doo, Demix Construction, Limited Liability Company "Mep plan" Podgorica, GEOTIN MNE doo for the design and supervision of geodetic works, engineering and consulting Podgorica, Hidrotehnika-hidrogradnja, a joint-stock company for the design and construction of all types of energy and hydro facilities and high-rise buildings from Belgrade.
