The Association of Tourist Boats for Transporting Passengers "Plavi Jadran" from Bar claims that the Government's decision to announce a tender for the lease of beaches did not foresee or plan the function of tourist boats and their docking on the territory of the entire Bar municipality.
In response to the adoption of the decision, it is stated that the law stipulates that the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management (PK) or the relevant Ministry shall determine the positions for docking ships on each beach.
"Due to the lack of infrastructure, piers and pontoons for docking boats, the JP is obliged to provide us with space on the beaches, which is clearly defined in Article 20 of the Law on Maritime Navigation Safety. For the public's sake, there are several such temporary docks throughout the Budva municipality for providing services - scooter rental, paragliding, speedboats and a dock for tourist boats, which we, as the Association, support and request that the same be provided for us," the Association points out.
They state that their tourist ships are a recognizable part of the tourist offer, of particular importance for passenger traffic and the only alternative to road passenger transport.
"Our activity brings significant income to the state, and during the summer season we provide additional assistance in saving human lives at sea," they say in the Bar association.
