The President of the Liberal Party of Montenegro and a member of the European Union (EU) in the Tivat Municipal Assembly, Vatroslav Belan, harshly attacked the local government, which is made up of a coalition led by the civic list Narod Pobjeđuje, due to the decision of the Government of Montenegro to announce a new tender for the lease of locations in the coastal zone and to adopt a new five-year program of temporary facilities on the coast with a total of over 1.700 such locations.
Belan recalled the multiple public efforts and promises of the local government of Tivat and the majority of its constituents to abolish the current JP Morsko dobro from Budva and emphasized that all of this has now fallen by the wayside in the face of the position of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, Slaven Radunović, who is an official of Nova, which is part of the local government in Tivat, that he is against that idea and that the state should keep coastal management in its own hands, and not transfer it to coastal municipalities.
"The members of the European Parliament in the Tivat Municipal Assembly are eagerly awaiting a new imaginative and 'decisive' positioning of the Tivat authorities and the ruling coalition on the issue of the rashomoniade that the Government, led by the only formal Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, guided by the ideas and plans of Andrija Mandić, is implementing in the Public Enterprise 'Morsko dobro', or 'Morsko zlo', and on the issue of the 'face-to-face' decision to announce a tender for the lease of beaches. From pounding on the 'heroic' local patriotic chest and promises to citizens that 'Morsko zlo' will be disbanded, we have come to the position of Minister Radunović, one of the flagships of the New and 44th Government, that the amendments to the Law on the Maritime Domain, which envisages that coastal management will be the responsibility of coastal cities, are not good, because, we quote: 'they would be catastrophic for Montenegro'. Nova has taken a liking to the golden chicken", Belan pointed out.
He said that "just these days, after they were moved to the opposition benches in Budva", in Nova, through the bearer of their electoral list in the recent local elections in that city, the director of the public company "Morsko dobro", Mladen Mikijelj, "they have prepared a new systematization according to which they plan to increase the number of employees in 'Morsko zlo' to almost 400 and thus increase their revenue and membership".
Citing Mikilje's statement from April 1, 2021, in which he said that they planned to reduce the number of employees at JPMD from the then 83 to 63 and that "this is the best proof that we will not go towards party employment, but will reduce current expenses, which were enormous, to the maximum," Belan noted that this statement was symbolically made on the International Day of Lies and Fraud and that it "can best indicate what kind of frauds have been going on since 2020."
He asked the councilors of the ruling Tivat "allegedly locally patriotically oriented coalition, Podgorica won't ask us" what they thought about Nova's position presented by Radunović and what they thought about "the new systematization in 'Morski zlo' if it is already planning to disband."
"What do they think about the Government's decision to hold an electronic session (and how could it be any different in their case) to announce a tender for the lease of beaches and facilities in the Coastal Zone, without consulting local governments and businessmen? What do they think about the decision to increase the price of beach leases by up to 300 percent and can they predict for us, under those conditions, the price of a set of deck chairs, the total number of tourists that this pricing policy will 'attract' to Tivat and Montenegro this season to spend their summers," Belan asked the councilors of Narodo Pobjeđuje, PES, Krtoljska Lista, and "independent councilors and all those who allegedly feel that way in the ruling benches."
"Since they have already gifted the Lepetane-Kamenari ferry line to such a 'Coastal Evil' as a company that manages the coastal zone, can they inform us of the huge revenues that the municipalities of Tivat and Herceg Novi have received, as promised, since that 'liberating' transfer was implemented," added Belan, asking the local authorities of Tivat what they think about the increase in the price of ferry tickets for passenger vehicles in the winter period and "will we boycott the Cataram transport a little while now that we are already in the throes of the fight against inflation?"
"We apologize to our fellow Democrats from the councilors' benches for not having any questions for them. They have fulfilled their goals by entering power and occupying the desired seats. They neither vote in the government nor are they asked anything, they wisely remain silent and play dead on all issues, clutching the handles of their chairs," concluded Belan.
