The Ministry of Tourism supports the introduction of order in coastal zone management in accordance with European standards, the department announced.
It is stated that the Government's decision to adopt amendments to the Program of Temporary Facilities in the Coastal Zone for the period 2024-2028, i.e. to launch a new tender for the lease of Montenegrin beaches, represents an important step towards more efficient and sustainable management of the coastal zone, in the interest of both citizens and the economy.
"In this regard, we support the efforts of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, as well as the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management, to bring order to this area and enable market competition in which everyone has equal opportunities," the Ministry said.
It is important, it is added, to direct activities towards increasing both the quality of service and the state's profits.
"It is equally important to ensure fair conditions for all potential tenants," the statement said.
As it is added, the goal is to strengthen competitiveness and transparency, which is crucial for the further development of the tourism sector and the economy as a whole.
"And the application of market transparency standards is also part of the obligations of harmonization with EU procedures and standards," the statement reminds.
The Ministry of Tourism, as stated, will continue to support all initiatives that contribute to sustainable development, improving the tourism offer and strengthening the institutional framework in natural resource management.
