Boycotting trade is not a solution, said Minister of Economic Development Nik Đeljošaj, emphasizing that he is not defending the Voli company, but rather the work of the Government and the decisions of the ministry he heads.
"I defend, and will defend while I am in the Government, the decisions and work of the Government that I vote for and, of course, the decisions of the ministry that I lead, which has achieved fantastic results in the last year," Đeljošaj said on Facebook.
According to him, the Government and the Ministry of Economic Development have stopped inflation and price increases.
"I am not defending any retail chain, I am not defending Voli. Voli has its own owners, Mr. (Dragan) Bokan and the European Development Bank, they can do it themselves, you can contact them," said Đeljošaj.
He emphasized that he was against the boycott of all stores for the first time, and that he is against the boycott of individual stores.
"Today it's Voli, tomorrow it's Laković... I repeat, that's not the solution," Đeljošaj added.
The day before yesterday, at a panel titled "Boycott of Trade - Who Wins and Who Loses?" at the Faculty of Economics, Đeljošaj said that boycotting domestic companies will not make citizens or the economy better off.
The citizens' group Alternativa, which was part of the Europe Now Movement (PES) in the previous elections, called on citizens on February 11 to boycott the Voli retail chain's stores from February 17 to 24 because it was chosen by citizens in a poll.
