Tenants of Ulcinj's beaches are dissatisfied with the scoring method and the new price list of initial fees for using the marine area.
The tender for the lease of bathing areas and facilities in the coastal zone has been announced for today.
Beach tenants believe that the scoring method is unfair because they do not have the same points as other tenants of temporary facilities in the coastal zone.
"A temporary catering facility can receive a maximum of 25 points based on references, and beach tenants only 12.5 points on the same basis. The second part of the 12.5 points in the case of beach tenants refers to the possession of the Blue Flag, which only 34 beaches on the Montenegrin coast had last year. A large number of beaches cannot receive the Blue Flag, as is the case with beaches in the Bay of Kotor and other parts of the Montenegrin coast," the tenants claim in a letter submitted to "Vijesti".
They point out that the price list of the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management (PK) states that beach categories are divided based on the degree of arrangement, attractiveness, and infrastructure equipment.
"In the specific case of Ulcinj's Velika Plaža, in most of the above-mentioned elements, the tenants themselves have invested for years, who believe that they should be protected in some way or that their investments in infrastructure should be included. Most of the tenants themselves have invested large amounts of money in electricity supply, asphalting access roads, greening public areas, installing public lighting...", the letter states.
