A record 2.525 euros in residence tax for vessels was collected from 53 yachts that sailed into Tivat over the weekend.

Director of the Tourist Organization (TO) Tivat Gabrijela Glavočić announced that the collection of residence tax for yachts has increased and that, based on the data recorded from Friday to Sunday, it can be said that the season for TO has started in that part of the collection as well.

"We are satisfied with the recorded increase and we believe that as the season progresses, this collection will only record an expansive growth," she said yesterday.

TO Tivat collects the residence tax for yachts through its representative who is present every day in the premises of the border crossing in the Porto Montenegro marina, i.e. in the Tivat branch of the Port Authority of Kotor.

TO collection of the tax began at the end of last year, in accordance with the Law on residence tax for vessels, which stipulates that every foreign ship or yacht with berths is obliged to pay it.

The amount of the fee depends on the time period of stay in Montenegro and the length of the vessel and ranges from 5 euros for a yacht up to seven meters long that stays for seven days, to a maximum of 120 euros for a boat more than 20 meters long that stays up to a year.

The tax is the revenue of the TO of the municipality on whose territory the yacht completed the administrative procedure of crossing the state border.

Among the yachts that sailed into Tivat last weekend is one of the largest ships that visited the Porto Montenegro marina so far this summer - the 101-meter long superyacht "Idynasty" that sails under the flag of the Cayman Islands. The 43-meter long "Eclipse" and the 72-meter "Coral Ocean" also arrived. The 106-meter-long superyacht "Amadea" flying the flag of the Cayman Islands and the 49-meter-long "Deja Too" arrived from Italy yesterday afternoon.
