The Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) is pleased that the meeting at the Faculty of Economics, which discussed the Analysis of Prices and Operations of Trade Enterprises in Montenegro, once again confirmed that the Montenegrin economy, specifically trade chains, are not a generator of inflation.
"We repeat, the undivided conclusion of representatives of the Government and the academic community during yesterday's meeting is the best confirmation of our position that the boycott of the economy is pointless and that the causes of inflation lie elsewhere," the statement said.
Regarding this current challenge, last week the Montenegrin economy invited Prime Minister Milojko Spajić for an urgent meeting, in order to take measures as soon as possible to remedy the bad trends in the business environment and create the conditions for the preservation and development of the economy.
"We hope, and business people expect, that the meeting will take place soon, bearing in mind that today it was once again confirmed that trade is not a generator of inflation, but that its causes need to be further analyzed," the statement said.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro said that unjustified boycotts and targeting of retail chains harm not only them, but also everyone in the chain: producers, primarily domestic ones, distributors, importers, employees, and ultimately the state.
A panel discussion was held on Wednesday, where representatives of the Government and the Faculty of Economics discussed the analysis conducted for the Chamber of Commerce by a team of professors from the Faculty of Economics.
