The Government of Montenegro has made a decision on new borrowing of 1,14 billion euros, and this represents Spajić's return to the outdated economic policy of constant borrowing "the balance is zero", said the head of the GP URA parliamentary group Miloš Konatar.
He said he was concerned that the new borrowing comes at a time when the government itself has moved the budget deficit projection from 278 million euros, from February 7 when the budget was adopted, to 391 million euros on February 28 when the Ministry of Finance announced the budget implementation plan for 2025.
He adds that in less than a month, the Government has worsened the budget deficit forecast, i.e. it has predicted a larger deficit by as much as 113 million euros.
"All of this is a warning that we must not borrow to cover current consumption, because in this way we enter a vicious circle of borrowing, we enter into debts that will be paid by future generations and thus we put shackles and a burden on them, which we should not. The government disposes of the money of all citizens and this money must be disposed of in a homely and responsible manner, and not in a risky and adventurous manner, which is currently being done by Spajić's government," said Konatar.
