The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has proposed Stevan Gajević as a member of the Fiscal Council of Montenegro, the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro announced today.
The statement states that Milatović did this based on Article 27c of the Law on Budget and Fiscal Responsibility.
Milatović expressed his expectation that the Fiscal Council, as an independent advisory body, will significantly contribute to strengthening the quality of fiscal policy through the assessment of its credibility and fiscal responsibility.
"The law stipulates that the Council, among other things, provides opinions on the impact of budget proposals and other regulations on the stability of public finances, analyzes the Fiscal Strategy proposal, as well as macroeconomic and fiscal trends," the statement reads.
It is stated that Stevan Gajević was born in 1974 in Pljevlja.
"He has a Master's degree in economics. He gained work experience in state administration and the banking sector. He also worked as an economic consultant in numerous companies, and was a state secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. He is a professional court expert, financial consultant, tax expert, independent appraiser and financial investigation specialist," the press release from the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro states.
