Socialist People's Party (SNP) MPs requested an amendment to the agenda of the session scheduled for Wednesday, with a Proposal for Amendments to the Law on the Labor Fund, aimed at resolving unpaid contributions to employees whose employers are insolvent or have disappeared from the labor market.
"These amendments provide that contributions to these employees will be paid for the period of service they lack as a condition for exercising their right to a pension," the SNP statement said.
SNP MPs Bogdan Božović and Slađana Kaluđerović previously presented key amendments to this Law that they initiated so that, in the spirit of social justice that the SNP advocates, every citizen can have a safe and dignified life.
"The amendments to the Act include clear deadlines for submitting requests and appropriate procedures to protect the rights of employees," the SNP said.
It is also envisaged that the basis for payment of contributions will be the minimum wage in Montenegro on the date of application, thus ensuring the financial sustainability and efficiency of the Labor Fund.
"Workers' rights must be protected. With this law, we ensure that no one is "invisible" in the eyes of the system," said the SNP deputies.
