The Public Company for Coastal Zone Management has invited the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) to investigate multi-million-dollar offers for the lease of beaches in Budva, the state-owned company told "Vijesti".
"The second day of the tender procedure for opening bids for the lease of locations for the municipalities of Bar and Ulcinj is here. As on the previous day, a large number of bidders have formed a queue to submit tender documentation. Yesterday's procedure day went flawlessly, which gives us the right to expect a successful and transparent completion of this process. We can already state that no publicly owned company has ever achieved such business progress between two public calls. After the first day, it is certain that revenues will be increased many times over, which further confirms the justification of the decision to increase the initial lease prices," they pointed out in Morski dobro.

Although the tender procedure, as they stated, has been going smoothly so far, they noticed that at certain locations in the municipality of Budva, bids with extremely high amounts were submitted, which attracted special media attention.
"Given that we suspect that these offers are not the result of rational business decisions, we call on the Special State Prosecutor's Office to get involved in checking whether these offers are the product of a desire to launder money or deliberately make the tender procedure meaningless, or whether they are truly the product of a rational business decision. We will make the decision on further action in cooperation with the relevant Ministry and the Government of Montenegro in order to preserve the integrity and legality of the entire procedure," they conclude in Morsko dobro.
